The gifts God gives

I have never hidden the fact that one of the gifts God gave me, was laughter. He made it so that even when my heart is broken, as I am crying I remember something or see something a certain way and I start laughing. As I laugh, the burden on my heart lifts.

I realise that it is weird and to witness it in person is weirder but this gift has been such a lifeline.

I have also never hidden the fact that prior to God helping me and healing me (…and gifting me), I was very sad. I remember nights where I would just cry because there was too much going on in my heart, in my mind, my life, and my past. I was such a mess. Everything was messy. The weight was suffocating me.

This week, I spoke to two people, both frendly acquaintances on seperate occassions. The first insisted we had met and she distinctly remembered me because I had “a light that she would always remember” – her words not mine and then this morning, the other lady reminded me of the short time we spent together. She said, she had never seen anyone “laugh like that“. This was when a small group of my peers tried to teach me to play UNO at a conference, during the break. I remember that time too. It was hilarious.

As someone who recognises the sadness, I have utterly embraced the laughter because I know what it was like before and so, sometimes, depending on your outlook, you may argue that I embrace it too much because I have been told that “I laugh with my whole body…” and thank God that I do! This gift brings healing to my very core.

I want to ask you. What gift has God given you to help you navigate this life? To help you deal with the valleys of life? What gifts has He given you to enable you swim when you should have sank? Do you even recognise it as a gift? Do you share it? Do you use it? If not, I encourage you to find out what this gift is. I know you have been gifted with SOMETHING. God the Father likes to give His children gifts and to each one, He gives something special.

If you do not know, ask Him to show you…He will! Feel free to share what that gift is!

“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him“.
Matthew 7:11 NLT

I am so grateful for the gift of laughter God gave me. It has so changed even the way I process information. I realise the why and I give thanks. I was reminded today of the love of God through this gift to me. His love for me and His love for YOU!

Despite what you may or may not believe, I need you to understand that there is a Father, a Heavenly Father, Who loves you and wants to have a relationship with you. A Father Who wants to lavish good gifts on you to bless you and the people around you. He is ever ready to embrace you and is just waiting for your “YES!”.

I am currently revelling in the fact that God is so kind He gave me such a wonderful gift – one that keeps on giving – somehow. One that makes each day that much brighter and one that reminds me of His generousity and love for me! It makes me giddy and grateful!

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him“.
1 John 3:1 NLT

If you do not know Him, I encourage you to take the step today (not for gifts or what you can get) but because there is no greater thing than experiencing the love of our Heavenly Father. Truly, nothing compares! It liberates you from everything that wants to keep you trapped. Jesus wants to break off the chain, take the weight and give you peace because He gifts peace!

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid“.
John 14:27 NLT
