I was talking to my friend yesterday and she was telling me about intrusive thoughts or as she put it, “negative automatic thoughts“. Regarding the topic, we were discussing and without realising it, my response to and about it were inherently negative. I had accepted that that negativity was factual and true when in reality, it was fear and therefore, false.
Someone correctly described fear as false evidence appearing real. I had allowed fear to change my mindset to the point that I accepted the lie and behaved according to the fear in my heart. It took my friend to hear these thoughts and point them out.
With each thought I vocalised, she challenged it and by the end of the call, I realised that all these thoughts and opinions are baseless and rooted in death. They were lies and I had to leave them to die.
What lies have YOU believed about yourself? What has fear convinced you to believe? Remember, there is no faith in fear and it is impossible to please God without faith. This is Scripture! Not only was I being displeasing to God, but I was also harming myself with deadly thoughts. I could never win that.
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise”.
Philippians 4:8 NLT
…and as you meditate on the right things, you begin to think and believe the right things…and as you think and believe the right things, you begin to speak the right things..you begin to speak the truth!
Speak life. Speak that which God has spoken about you. Regurgitate the life-giving words that God has said concerning you. This way, you are in agreement with the Giver of Life and there is absolutely no fear therein!
Love and Blessings,
